The Cartier Ronde Louis Cartier ref. W1528051 comes from Cartier’s CPCP era and is cased in platinum, measuring 34mm in diameter and just 6.5mm thick. It features a silver guilloché dial with Roman numerals, blued hands, a sapphire cabochon crown, and a manually wound Piaget movement.
This watch comes from Cartier’s Collection Privée Cartier Paris, better known as CPCP, which ran from 1998 to 2008. Before CPCP, Cartier was largely associated with quartz watches and did not have the same reputation among mechanical watch enthusiasts, despite the brand’s historical significance. CPCP was Cartier’s return to tradition: classic case shapes, precious metals, mechanical movements, and designs rooted in the maison’s historic catalog. Without CPCP, Cartier’s modern collector reputation likely would not be what it is today.
This example is in great condition and was serviced by Cartier in 2024, receiving an overhaul, refinishing, and replacement hands, crystal, and strap. The watch retains its original 18k white gold deployant clasp and comes with the Cartier service paperwork and a Cartier service pouch.
