The Grand Seiko SBGA371 is a special limited edition produced for the AJHH, the Japan Association of Haute Horlogerie, in collaboration with Japanese producer Yasushi Akimoto. Released in 2018 and limited to 500 pieces, it was sold exclusively through participating AJHH retailers in Japan.

The most distinctive feature is the sunray-finished “Shiny Bronze” dial, which shifts between bronze, copper and pink depending on the light. Applied hour markers are paired with large Arabic numerals at 12 and 6, while the 9 o’clock numeral is finished in contrasting red. The red 9 was intended to represent 9 AM as the beginning of the working day and 9 PM as the beginning of the evening.

The stainless steel case measures 39mm and is paired with a matching stainless steel bracelet. Inside is Grand Seiko’s caliber 9R65 Spring Drive movement, providing approximately 72 hours of power reserve. The exhibition caseback is specific to the edition, with the Grand Seiko lion and “Limited Edition by AJHH” printed over the sapphire crystal.
