MB&F LM101 Steel Blue

Introduced in 2014, the MB&F Legacy Machine 101 was conceived as a more compact expression of the brand’s highly architectural approach to traditional watchmaking. At the center of the design is its oversized flying balance wheel, suspended dramatically above the dial and flanked by subdials for the time and power reserve. The LM101 also marked an important milestone for MB&F as the first model powered by a movement developed in-house by the brand, with Kari Voutilainen contributing to its aesthetic design and finishing specifications.

The LM101 was updated in 2021 with several notable refinements, including a Straumann double hairspring for the balance and a distinctive darkened NAC finish on the movement bridges. These updates give the caliber a more contemporary, technical appearance while highlighting its traditional hand-finishing. Paired with the blue dial and stainless steel case, these details create a particularly striking contrast between classical watchmaking and MB&F’s unmistakably modern design language.
